I met this iconic gentleman in-person for the first time in New York City in 2016, for my involvement with Dwight Eisenhower Fellowship where he honored me. Dwight Eisenhower exists to attract and inspire leaders across country borders in all nations who make a difference in society. This is under the leadership of George De Lama, the President of the Fellowship. As a result, it was arranged for me to be recognized as a leader and country chair for Ghana. With support from a great team, I was able to establish and re-introduce this Fellowship to Ghana, which later spread across the entire African continent. This  was the General's biggest vision and passion when he took over office as the global trustee chair of the fellowship at the time. This was the reason I met him privately and later during the ceremony.

In an ironical way, in return, in 2018, just 2 years after our initial meeting, I was selected to lead a delegation, including Mo Ibrahim in presenting an achievement award as the outgoing global trustee chair in Philadelphia, U.S.A. in the presence of over 400 invited dignitaries across the globe - sharing the same stage with former US Presidents, Secretaries of States, high powered influential leaders, Kings and Queens from other nations and ordinary people; in-person, and via video conference in a non-political environment, with 100% focus on social impact. It was iconic, humbling, and honorable!
